Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the holiday season. Hopefully the season provides a welcome respite from regular routines.
The fast pace that healthcare and health IT moves demands our full attention. It can often seem that our work lives move, without pause, from one project (or crisis) to the next. There can be little time to consider what is accomplished or to recognize the collaborative efforts that keep us moving forward.
GLHC practices a tradition of sharing observations of gratitude in anticipation and celebration of the holiday season. We also extend the invitation to our friends, colleagues, and partners across the healthcare and health IT professional communities. The hashtag #HITThankful collects these thoughts.
Here is a sampling.
My #HITThankful is basic – I’m so glad I’m healthy and require minimal interaction with a desperately broken #healthcare system but live in fear of bankruptcy with one random accident, diagnosis or unpredictable clinical event to change everything #thanksgiving https://t.co/iqXnFmDsix

The blessings God has poured out my me are more numerous than the grains of sand at the seashore. But I am especially grateful this year for health, for grandchildren, for the crazy game of golf, & the incredible, amazing people I work with @GLHC_HIE and beyond. #HITThankful

Whatever your plans are this holiday season,
GLHC is grateful for each of you.
Whether in the great state of Michigan, across the country, or around the world, we are privileged to be part of a professional community who are all collectively working toward the same goal – better health and quality of life for us all. THAT vision is something for which we can all be #HITThankful!
